Website Design and Build for Artemis Rose

The brief.

The new Artemis Rose website needed to be updated and organised to reflect the branding and personality of the business, optimised for e-commerce and updated for SEO.

The website needed to have continuity in its look and feel to help express who they are, what they sell and suggest the quality and nature of their products.

With an expanding range of products in the clean beauty space, their new website needed to be optimised for easier and more direct shopping and purchasing experience for buyers.

The website needed to be updated for search engine optimisation (SEO). This is to enhance its performance on Google and other search engines and also to help reach their audience.

How did we do this?

Capturing the brand’s personality

We created visual consistency throughout the website to showcase the brand and give customers an idea of the atmosphere, experience and feel that is Artemis Rose products. The brand colours; the blue tones, and the fonts were paired with beautiful photography that captures the brand’s essence and compliments the products and product images in the e-shop. Dynamic elements like the testimonials and Instagram feed give more life to the website and give viewers a sense of the activity, the people behind the brand, and the consumers of the brand.

Functionality for e-commerce

Ease and functionality are crucial to an online shopping experience.

For this website we wanted customers have no hiccups in their shopping experience, so we utilised a clean and uncluttered website design that used direct and easy navigation.

The Homepage utilised a menu bar and for customers who wanted to explore via the homepage were first directed to bestsellers before scrolling for more popular categories – clean, uncluttered, easy navigation, bestsellers, shop categories.

With a brand focussing on tranquillity and space, overcrowding the homepage with in-your-face promotions and shopping directions would not reflect what the brand is or what is wanted by the customers.

SEO

Our approach to SEO is centred around focussed and intentional use of keywords, page titles, alt text and product descriptions to inform google about the business but primarily to reach and clearly express the brand to the right audience.

Keyword research was our first step in order to analyse what their audience is searching for online and how can the website be optimised to reach these people.

Additionally, we’re aiming for valuable traffic that drives revenue and sales - not simply increasing all traffic regardless of if they intend to purchase

The results.

The design of the homepage encompasses the style and experience of the brand. The page layout was kept minimal for easy navigation and to prioritise negative space in the design to reflect the brand essence. SEO keywords are used in the H1 of the homepage and throughout in image alt text to indicate to search engines what this business is.

The feature photo upon landing on the homepage and the hierarchical layout of information helps engage the audience and encourage them to continue on the website.

The design of the ‘shop’ page continues this consistent layout and utilises categories to make the shopping experience straightforward. The product descriptions are organised to make information easy to find and digest as well as incorporating keywords throughout the pages.

The website design for Artemis Rose combines functionality with curated brand aesthetics to provide a smooth customer experience while also bringing the experience of their products into the experience of their online shopping.
