Website design for Bianca Wooldridge

The brief

Bianca came to us needing a website for her yoga classes. She wanted a website to list class times and information, something that was easy to update as classes and programs change regularly.

The website also needed to integrate with a booking system so customers can book classes online.

As always all our websites come with an SEO strategy based on the search behaviour of our client’s potential customers, for Bianca, this was people looking for yoga classes in Hobart including postpartum mums and bubs classes, and classes for beginners.

How did we do this?

User focussed design and navigation

The website was structured as

  • Homepage

  • yoga page which provides all the information for the classes

  • health coaching page

  • about page

  • contact page.

As every yoga class doesn’t need an individual page (and this wouldn’t be helpful for SEO), we created a single page with anchor tags so visitors can jump to the class they want information about. Anchor tags are those links that help you jump to a specific section on a page, they provide a better user experience as it makes it easier and quicker for people to navigate around the website.

The page is in a table structure, making it easy for users to read and compare the different class options. The page also includes overview information about Bianca’s classes and frequently asked questions. This extra information provides a better user experience for those new or uncertain about the classes.

As we dive into the specific yoga classes that Bianca provides, the page provides all the information that potential clients are looking for and all the information that helps direct the right people from Google - it’s a win/win.

The homepage similarly considers user-focussed design. We used graphics to better list and signpost Bianca’s different classes, helping visitors quickly navigate and take in information. We also included testimonials to give a better sense of Bianca’s class experience. This social proof provides evidence of Bianca’s skill as a teacher helping to increase conversion.

Another key feature of this design is the integration of Bianca’s booking system. We set Bianca up with Squarespace Scheduling and created different classes that clients can book through links on the website’s yoga page. This was a good fit for Bianca and her business as she can easily update class details like price, time, recurrence, and class size. For Bianca’s clients, this booking system makes it easy to class times and details, improving their experience and bookings.

Website built with SEO strategy

Our SEO strategy focussed on getting Bianca’s website ranking for “yoga Hobart” and similar related searches, as well as more specific searches for yoga programs like her mums and bubs classes.

We focussed on on-page strategies to reinforce to Google this website is all about yoga classes in Hobart, placing keywords smartly throughout the website without compromising the experience for users or the overall design.

Anchor links, headings, and alt tags were some of the on-page spots we optimised to improve visibility for searches relating to her more specialised classes.

All our websites come with an SEO keyword strategy and on-page SEO work built in. SEO isn’t a once-and-done thing so we set websites up so Clients are starting out on the best foot and in the right direction, and could, if they choose to, either engage us for ongoing SEO work, or DIY the maintenance.

The results

We love this website if we do say so.

The design features beautiful photos, graphics and layout with the design working well with navigation so visitors aren’t asked to jump through a dozen hoops to get the information they’re after.

Since its been published it appears on the first page of Google for “yoga Hobart”, “yoga studio Hobart” and similar searches for Hobart and surrounding areas. The website also gets clicks from searches including postnatal yoga and yoga classes for beginners, showing that Google is recognising the different yoga classes Bianca offers.
